Walking
If you are in the city center of Utrecht, start by heading towards the Utrecht Central Station. From the station, exit onto Stationsplein and walk straight towards the main road, which is called Vredenburg. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with the street called Stadhuis. Turn left onto Stadhuis and keep walking until you reach the end of the street. From there, turn right onto the Oudegracht, which is the canal that runs through the city. Follow the Oudegracht south, and you will see a variety of shops, cafes, and beautiful canal-side views. Continue along the canal until you reach the intersection with the street called Voorstraat, where you can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the area.
Bicycle
You can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops around Utrecht. Once you have your bike, head towards the Vredenburg area and access the bike lanes. Cycle along the Vredenburg towards the Oudegracht canal. Follow the canal southwards, enjoying the beautiful views of the historic buildings along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you towards the Jordaan district in Amsterdam. This route is approximately a 30-minute ride, so make sure to wear a helmet and follow the local cycling rules.
Train
From Utrecht Central Station, purchase a train ticket to Amsterdam Central Station. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and follow the signs to the tram stop. You can take tram line 13 or 17 towards the Westermarkt. Get off at the stop called 'Westermarkt' and walk a few minutes to reach the Jordaan neighborhood. The area is known for its narrow streets, quaint canals, and vibrant atmosphere.
Public Transport
Take bus line 2 from Utrecht Central Station towards 'Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn.' Get off at the stop called 'Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn' and transfer to the train at the nearby Vaartsche Rijn station. Take a train to Amsterdam Central Station, which takes about 30 minutes. Once at Amsterdam Central Station, follow the signs to the tram stop and board either tram 13 or 17 towards Westermarkt. After a short ride, alight at Westermarkt and walk a few minutes to explore the Jordaan district.
