Walking
If you are near the city center of Utrecht, head towards Vredenburg square. From there, walk straight down the Vredenburg street until you reach the junction with the Oudegracht canal. Turn left onto Oudegracht and continue walking along the canal. After a short walk, you will reach the intersection with the Nieuwegracht canal. Keep walking straight and follow the signs to the train station (Utrecht Centraal). Once you reach the station, take a train to Amsterdam Centraal. Upon arrival at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head south towards the dam square. From there, walk east until you reach the Nieuwmarkt square.
Public Transport - Train
Start at Utrecht Centraal Station. Purchase a train ticket to Amsterdam Centraal, which is a direct train and takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, follow the signs to exit the station. Upon exiting, walk towards the Dam Square. From Dam Square, continue walking east along the Damstraat until you reach the Nieuwmarkt area. The Nieuwmarkt square will be just ahead on your right.
Bicycle
You can rent a bicycle in Utrecht city center. Start from the Dom Tower area and head southwest towards the Oudegracht canal. Once you reach the canal, follow it until you reach the Utrecht train station (Utrecht Centraal). Park your bike there and take the train to Amsterdam Centraal. After arriving at Amsterdam Centraal, you can either continue biking or walk to Nieuwmarkt, which is about a 15-minute bike ride away. Head south from the station towards the Dam Square, then east until you reach Nieuwmarkt.
Bus
From the city center of Utrecht, locate the nearest bus stop that services routes to Amsterdam. Take a bus heading to Amsterdam, which typically takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once the bus arrives at Amsterdam, disembark at the nearest stop to Amsterdam Centraal. From there, you can either walk south towards the Dam Square and then east to Nieuwmarkt, or take a short tram ride if available.
