Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Vechtstreek, take the N201 road heading west towards Aalsmeer. Continue on N201 for about 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the Aalsmeerweg (N196). Turn right onto Aalsmeerweg and follow the signs for Westeinderplassen. After approximately 3 kilometers, you will see signage directing you to Westeinderplassen. There is parking available nearby, but please check for any parking fees.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Westeinderplassen by public transport, start at the nearest train station in Vechtstreek. Take a train to Nieuw Vennep Station. From there, transfer to bus line 166 towards Aalsmeer. Ride the bus for about 20 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Westeinderplassen'. The bus stops are clearly marked, and you should be able to find a schedule on the bus stop or through local transit apps. Be aware that bus tickets may incur a cost, typically around €3-€5 for a single journey. Ensure you have an OV-chipkaart or purchase a ticket from the bus driver.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, renting a bicycle in Vechtstreek is a great option. Follow the cycling paths towards Aalsmeer, which are well-signposted. The ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. You would head towards N201 and then follow signs for Westeinderplassen, which will lead you directly to the lake. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring water for the ride!

• Walking

  If you are already close to Westeinderplassen and prefer to walk, ensure you have a map application on your phone for precise directions. Walking from Aalsmeer town center to Westeinderplassen takes about 25 minutes. Head towards the main road, Aalsmeerweg, and follow it until you see the signs for Westeinderplassen. The route is pedestrian-friendly.
