From the main entrance of Zaanse Schans, head south towards the Zaan River. As you walk along the river, you will see traditional Dutch wooden houses and windmills on your left. Continue walking along the waterfront for about 10 minutes until you reach the bridge that crosses the river. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto Kalverpolderpad. After a short walk, you will find Het Zwarte Kalf on your right.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Zaanse Schans. Once you have your bike, head towards the Zaan River and ride south along the riverbank. Follow the same path as described for walking, crossing the bridge and proceeding along Kalverpolderpad. The total cycling distance is approximately 2 km and should take about 10 minutes depending on your speed.
