If you are driving from any location in Douglas County, head towards US-395 N. Continue on US-395 N for approximately 25 miles. Take the exit toward CA-89 S and merge onto CA-89 S. After about 10 miles, turn left onto Emerald Bay Rd (CA-89 S). Continue for about 3 miles, and you will reach Desolation Wilderness Trailhead. There are no tolls on this route, but be aware of potential parking fees at the trailhead.

Once you arrive in South Lake Tahoe, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Emerald Bay Rd.
