Experience California Trail Interpretive Center

Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in downtown Elko, start at the corner of Idaho Street and Silver Street. Head east on Silver Street until you reach the intersection with 5th Street. Turn left onto 5th Street and continue until you reach the roundabout. From the roundabout, take the first exit onto the Elko Bypass (US-93 N). Walk along the designated pedestrian pathway on the side of the road. Follow the signs for California Trail Interpretive Center. After about 1.5 miles, you will see the entrance on your right at 1 Interpretive Center Way.

  • Bicycle

    Starting from the Elko City Park, head north on 6th Street until you reach the intersection with Idaho Street. Turn right onto Idaho Street and continue until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto the Elko Bypass (US-93 N). There is a bike lane along the bypass. Continue cycling for about 1.5 miles, and you will see the California Trail Interpretive Center on your right at 1 Interpretive Center Way.

  • Public Transportation

    From the Elko Transit Center, take the bus route that heads towards the Elko Bypass. You will need to check the current bus schedule for exact times. Once you arrive at the stop near the Elko Bypass, exit the bus and walk along the pedestrian path that leads to the California Trail Interpretive Center. It is located about 1.5 miles from the bus stop, and you will see signs guiding you to the entrance at 1 Interpretive Center Way.
