Bus
To get to Virginia City from Reno, start by heading to the RTC (Regional Transportation Commission) bus terminal located at 4th Street and Center Street in downtown Reno. Look for the bus number 10, which travels towards Virginia City. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride through the mountains. The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes. The bus will drop you off at Virginia City, where you can explore the historic mining town.
Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Reno. From the city center, head east on 4th Street and follow the signs for Virginia City. The route will take you along the Virginia City Highway (NV-341), which is a scenic ride. Be cautious as some parts may have traffic. The ride is about 25 miles and may take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to bring water and snacks for the journey!
Walking
Walking to Virginia City is not practical due to the distance (approximately 25 miles) and the lack of pedestrian pathways. However, if you are determined to walk, start from downtown Reno and head east on 4th Street until you reach the Virginia City Highway (NV-341). Continue following the highway. It's recommended to take public transportation or a bicycle for safety and convenience.
