Car
From Walker Lake, head north on NV-95 N. Continue driving for approximately 40 miles until you reach the junction with I-80 E. Merge onto I-80 E and continue for about 90 miles. Take exit 303 for NV-227 toward Elko. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto NV-227 S. After about 2.5 miles, turn right onto 1 Interpretive Center Way. The California Trail Interpretive Center will be on your left.

If you are traveling by public transportation, note that there are limited options from Walker Lake. The nearest bus service is Greyhound, which operates routes to Elko. You will need to take a Greyhound bus to Elko, which may require a transfer depending on your starting point. Once you arrive at the Greyhound station in Elko, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the California Trail Interpretive Center at 1 Interpretive Center Way, approximately 5 miles away.
