Walking
From the centre of Hienghène, start at the Hienghène Tourist Information Office located near the waterfront. Head southeast along the main road, Route de la Côte. Follow the road for approximately 2 kilometers, enjoying the views of the coast on your left. You will pass several local shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the fork in the road, then take the right branch towards Ouaieme. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer, and you will see signs directing you towards Ouaieme. The river will be visible on your left as you approach your destination.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Hienghène. Start your journey from the Hienghène waterfront area and cycle southeast along Route de la Côte. The ride will take you about 15-20 minutes. As you cycle, keep an eye out for local flora and fauna. When you reach the fork in the road, take the right branch towards Ouaieme. Continue cycling until you see the signs for Ouaieme, which will lead you to the river area, where you can enjoy the scenic views.
Public Transport (Bus)
Check the local bus schedule from the Hienghène central bus station. Board a bus heading towards Ouaieme. The journey takes around 30 minutes, with stops along the way.
