Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the village of Vao, which is the main settlement on Ile des Pins. Head south on Route de Vao towards the southern tip of the island. Continue on this road for approximately 6 kilometers. You will pass through lush tropical landscapes and small local villages. Follow the signs directing to Kanumera Bay. There is a small parking area near the beach where you can leave your vehicle.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a local bus from Vao to Kanumera Bay. The bus service typically runs several times a day, but it's advisable to check the current schedule at the local tourist information center. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver of your destination, as some buses may not have a set route. There might be a small fare for the bus ride, usually around 300-500 CFP (Pacific Francs).
Walking
If you enjoy walking and are staying nearby, you can reach Kanumera Bay by foot. From Vao, head south on Route de Vao. After about 6 kilometers, you will arrive at the beach. The path is scenic but can be hot, so ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
