Car
Starting from the center of Yate, head northwest on Route de Yaté toward the D1 road. Continue on D1 for approximately 25 km. As you approach the Yaté Dam, look for signs indicating the direction to Yaté River. Make a right turn onto the unpaved road leading to the river access point. The drive should take around 30 minutes, and please note that a small parking fee may be required at the dam entrance.
Public Transportation
From the central bus station in Yate, take the bus heading towards the Yaté Dam. Buses run twice a day, so be sure to check the timetable. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Yaté Dam, you will need to walk approximately 1 km along the marked path to reach Yaté River. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes for the walk.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Yate. Start from the town center and follow Route de Yaté to the D1 road. This route is approximately 25 km long and will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Upon reaching the dam, secure your bicycle at the designated bike rack and proceed on foot to Yaté River, which is about a 15-minute walk from the dam.
