If you are driving from the main visitor center of the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, head south on Long Hill Road towards US-202. Turn left onto US-202 and continue for approximately 3 miles. Merge onto I-287 S and follow for about 4.5 miles. Take exit 8 for NJ-27 S toward New Brunswick. Continue on NJ-27 S for about 7 miles, then turn right onto Deans Rhode Hall Rd. Pigeon Swamp will be on your right after about 1 mile. Parking is available on-site.

To reach Pigeon Swamp via public transportation, start by taking a NJ Transit train from the nearest station to Great Swamp, such as the Bernardsville Station, to the New Brunswick Station. From New Brunswick, transfer to NJ Transit bus #810 towards Trenton and get off at the stop on Route 27 at Deans Rhode Hall Rd. From there, it's a short walk to the entrance of Pigeon Swamp.
