Getting There

  • Car

    To reach Princeton Battlefield State Park from Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge by car, head southeast on Long Hill Road (CR 512) for about 4 miles. Turn left onto Route 202 South and continue for approximately 6 miles. Merge onto I-287 South and travel for about 10 miles. Take exit 14A for Route 1 South towards Trenton. Continue on Route 1 South for approximately 8 miles. Take the exit for Alexander Road towards Princeton. Follow Alexander Road, which will become Mercer Road. Continue on Mercer Road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the park entrance at 500 Mercer Rd, Princeton, NJ 08540.

    If traveling by public transportation, you can take NJ Transit from the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge area. First, you will need to get to a nearby NJ Transit train station. The nearest station is in Bernardsville. From there, take the train towards New York Penn Station. At New York Penn Station, transfer to the NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line towards Long Branch. Get off at the Princeton Junction station. From Princeton Junction, take the NJ Transit bus 600 towards Trenton and get off at the stop for Mercer Road.
