Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in central Hoboken, start by heading to Washington Street, which is the main street through town. Walk north along Washington Street until you reach the intersection with 14th Street. Turn left onto 14th Street and continue walking until you reach the Hudson River waterfront. At the waterfront, you will find the Hoboken Terminal. From there, enter the terminal and take the PATH train towards 33rd Street. The ride will take about 10 minutes. Get off at the 33rd Street station in Manhattan. After exiting the station, walk east towards 6th Avenue and take a right. Continue walking south on 6th Avenue until you reach Lafayette Street. Turn left onto Lafayette Street, and The Public Theater will be on your left at 425 Lafayette St.

• Train

  Begin at Hoboken Terminal, which you can reach by walking to the waterfront. Once inside the terminal, purchase a ticket for the PATH train to 33rd Street. Board the train and travel for about 10 minutes to the 33rd Street station. After disembarking, walk east to 6th Avenue and turn right. Head south on 6th Avenue until you reach Lafayette Street, then turn left. The Public Theater will be at 425 Lafayette St on your left.

• Bus

  From Hoboken, walk to the nearest bus stop for NJ Transit buses on Washington Street. Look for a bus heading towards New York City, specifically the 126 or 87 routes. Board the bus and ride until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive, exit the terminal and walk east to 8th Avenue, then turn left. Walk north on 8th Avenue until you reach the intersection with Lafayette Street. Turn right on Lafayette Street, and The Public Theater will be on your left at 425 Lafayette St.
