Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
PATH Train
From Jersey City, head to the nearest PATH station, which is either Exchange Place or Journal Square. If you are at Exchange Place, take the PATH train towards World Trade Center. If you are at Journal Square, take the PATH train towards 33rd Street. Stay on the train for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the World Trade Center station in Manhattan. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to the Oculus and take a moment to enjoy the view of Lower Manhattan.
Ferry
Make your way to the Jersey City Liberty State Park Ferry Terminal, which you can reach by walking or taking a local bus. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the NY Waterway ferry to Manhattan. The ferry ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes, offering stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. Disembark at the Midtown or Wall Street terminal in Manhattan, and from there, you can explore the nearby attractions.
Bus
Locate a local NJ Transit bus stop near you. Take the bus number 119, 120, or 126 towards New York City. The journey will take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Your stop will typically be at Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. After disembarking, follow the signs to Times Square or head towards the subway station to continue your journey into the heart of Manhattan.
Walking
If you are near the waterfront, you can take a leisurely walk along the Hudson River waterfront walkway. Head towards the Liberty State Park area and enjoy the beautiful views of the river and the Manhattan skyline. Continue walking north along the path until you reach the Battery Park area in Manhattan, which will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your walking speed. This is a great way to experience the area and take photos along the way.
