    From Paterson, head to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can take the NJ Transit bus 190 or 198 towards New York City. Make sure to check the bus schedule to ensure timely departures. Stay on the bus until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive at the Port Authority, exit the terminal and walk to Times Square. From Times Square, take the subway (1, 2, or 3 line) to the Chambers Street station. Transfer to the 4 or 5 line and head downtown to the Bowling Green station. From Bowling Green, walk east towards Battery Park and follow signs for Castle Williams located on Governors Island.

    Train

    Start from Paterson Station and take a NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line or the Main/Bergen County Line towards New York Penn Station. Once at Penn Station, exit and walk to the nearby 34th Street subway station. Take the 1 subway line downtown to the South Ferry station. From South Ferry, you will need to take a ferry to Governors Island. The ferry departs from the Battery Maritime Building, which is a short walk from the subway exit. After arriving at Governors Island, follow signs to Castle Williams.
