From Paterson, walk to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can take the NJ Transit Bus 193 towards New York Port Authority Bus Terminal. Make sure to check the schedule for the bus timings. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Port Authority, exit the terminal and head to 8th Avenue. Walk north towards W 42nd St, then turn left on W 42nd St and continue until you reach the Hudson River. Cross the river via the George Washington Bridge and follow the directions to the Met Cloisters at 99 Margaret Corbin Dr.

Head to the nearest NJ Transit train station in Paterson. Take the train to New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, exit and transfer to the A train subway heading towards Inwood-207 St. Get off at the 190th Street Station. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk. Exit the station and walk north on Fort Washington Ave, then turn right onto Margaret Corbin Dr until you reach the Met Cloisters.

If you are already in central Paterson, you can walk to the NJ Transit bus terminal located at 210 McBride Ave. From there, catch a bus heading towards New York City (Bus 193 or 164). After arriving at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York, follow the directions above to reach the Met Cloisters. The walk from the bus terminal to the museum will take approximately 40 minutes.
