    From downtown Paterson, walk to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can catch the #156 bus towards the George Washington Bridge. The bus will take you directly to the Fort Lee area, where the bridge is located. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off the bus at the stop nearest to the bridge, follow the signs to the George Washington Bridge pedestrian walkway.

    If you prefer walking, start from the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park. Head southeast on McBride Avenue towards Broadway. Continue on Broadway until you reach the intersection with Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street and walk towards the Passaic River.
