Getting There

  • Bus

    From downtown Paterson, head to the nearest bus stop on Market Street. Take NJ Transit Bus #190 towards New York, NY. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. After disembarking, walk to 8th Avenue and take the C subway line uptown (towards 168th Street) for 5 stops. Get off at 168th Street Station, then transfer to the A subway line and head towards Inwood-207th Street. Get off at the 175th Street Station. Exit the station and walk west for about 15 minutes until you reach Fort Washington Park.

  • Train and Subway

    From the Paterson Train Station, take a NJ Transit train towards Hoboken. Disembark at Secaucus Junction and transfer to a train heading towards New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, follow signs to the 34th Street subway station and take the A subway line uptown (towards Inwood-207th Street). Get off at the 175th Street Station. From there, walk west for about 15 minutes to reach Fort Washington Park.

    If you are near Eastside Park in Paterson, start at the park's entrance and head north on Park Avenue. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with 21st Avenue. Turn left onto 21st Avenue and walk until you get to the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park. From there, take a bus or find a way to reach the nearest NJ Transit station to connect to New York City. Follow the previous bus or subway instructions to reach Fort Washington Park.
