Public Transport
From Red Bank, walk to the Red Bank train station located at 176 Riverside Ave. Once there, take a NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line train towards New York Penn Station. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at New York Penn Station. From Penn Station, transfer to the 2 or 3 subway line downtown towards Brooklyn. Get off at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets station. Exit the station and walk east on Schermerhorn Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the New York Transit Museum at 99 Schermerhorn St.

If you prefer walking, head to the nearest NJ Transit station, which is the Red Bank train station at 176 Riverside Ave. Board a North Jersey Coast Line train towards New York Penn Station. After arriving at Penn Station, follow the signs to the subway and take the 2 or 3 subway line towards Brooklyn. Alight at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets stop and exit the station. Walk east on Schermerhorn Street for about 5 minutes to find the New York Transit Museum at 99 Schermerhorn St.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in Red Bank. Start your ride heading towards the Navesink River and take the scenic route along the riverfront towards the train station. Follow the bike paths that lead you towards the city. You can bike along the waterfront and connect to a bike-friendly route that leads to the train station. Park your bike at the Red Bank train station, then board the North Jersey Coast Line train towards New York Penn Station. Once at Penn Station, use the subway to reach the New York Transit Museum by taking the 2 or 3 subway line downtown and getting off at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets.
