Car
To reach Valles Caldera National Preserve from Chaco Culture National Historical Park, start by getting onto NM-57 N from the park. Drive for approximately 7 miles until you reach the intersection with US-550 N. Turn right onto US-550 N and continue for about 30 miles. After that, take the exit for NM-4 towards Los Alamos/Jemez Springs. Follow NM-4 for about 22 miles, and you will see signs for Valles Caldera National Preserve. The address is 39201 NM-4, Jemez Springs, NM 87025. Please note that there may be a small entrance fee to the preserve, so have your payment method ready.

Public transportation options are limited in this region. The closest bus service is from the Santa Fe Trails, which offers routes to various locations in New Mexico. From Chaco Culture National Historical Park, you will need to first arrange transportation to a nearby town with bus services, such as Farmington or Santa Fe. Once in Farmington or Santa Fe, catch the bus to Los Alamos, and then take a taxi or rideshare service to Valles Caldera National Preserve. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may not run frequently.
