Car
From Gila National Forest, head southeast on NM-15 S towards Silver City. Continue on NM-15 S for approximately 25 miles until you reach the intersection with US-180 E. Merge onto US-180 E and drive for about 2 miles. Then, take the exit onto NM-26 E towards Deming. Follow NM-26 E for about 25 miles until you reach the junction with NM-195. Turn left onto NM-195 and follow it for about 8 miles. Elephant Butte Lake State Park will be on your right at 101 NM-195, Elephant Butte, NM 87935. The total drive is approximately 60 miles and will take around 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

If you are using public transportation, you can take the Greyhound bus from Silver City to Truth or Consequences, which is the nearest town to Elephant Butte Lake State Park. From Silver City, the bus ride takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
