Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Jemez Springs from NM-4. Once you reach Jemez Springs, continue on NM-4 North for approximately 9 miles. Look for the signs indicating Jemez Falls. You will turn left onto a dirt road that leads to the parking area near the falls. Please be aware that the last section of the road may be bumpy, and a high-clearance vehicle is recommended. Parking is free.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, public transportation options directly to Jemez Falls are limited. However, you can take a bus from Albuquerque to Jemez Springs (check local schedules for routes and times). Once in Jemez Springs, you may need to arrange for a taxi or ride-sharing service to reach Jemez Falls, which is about 9 miles away. Be sure to confirm the availability of transportation services in advance, as they may not operate frequently.

• Hiking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are already in the vicinity of Jemez Falls, you can also hike to the falls. Starting from the Jemez Falls Campground, the trail to the falls is approximately 0.25 miles and is rated moderate. Be prepared for a bit of a steep descent, and make sure to wear suitable footwear. It's advisable to explore the river area at the bottom of the falls, but please note this may not be suitable for novice hikers.
