Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Los Alamos, start at Ashley Pond Park. Head east on Central Avenue towards the intersection with 20th Street. Turn left onto 20th Street and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Trinity Drive. Cross Trinity Drive and continue straight onto the Los Alamos Canyon Trail. Follow this trail for about 1.5 miles until you reach the junction with the Santa Fe National Historic Trail. Turn left onto the Santa Fe National Historic Trail, and you will arrive at the Old Santa Fe Trail in Santa Fe, NM.

    Begin at the Los Alamos Transit Center located near Central Avenue. Take the Blue Line bus towards Santa Fe. The bus will take you directly to the Santa Fe Depot. From the depot, walk south on Old Santa Fe Trail for approximately half a mile until you reach the Santa Fe National Historic Trail. The trail will be on your right, and you can enjoy a scenic walk along the historic route.
