Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey at the Los Alamos Visitor Center located at 475 20th Street. From the Visitor Center, head east on 20th Street until you reach Central Avenue. Turn left on Central Avenue and walk north. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Diamond Drive. Turn right onto Diamond Drive. Keep walking until you reach the entrance to Bandelier National Monument on your left. The Alcove House is located within Bandelier National Monument. Follow the signs for Alcove House once you enter the park.

    For a more scenic and faster route, start at the Los Alamos Co-op Market at 95 Entrada Dr. Grab a bike from a rental service if you don't have one. Head south on Entrada Drive, which will turn into 15th Street. Continue on 15th Street until you reach Central Avenue. Turn left onto Central Avenue and follow it north. You will eventually reach Diamond Drive. Turn right on Diamond Drive, and then follow the signs to Bandelier National Monument. Once inside the park, look for the signs leading to Alcove House.
