Bus
From the center of Los Alamos, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located at the Los Alamos County Library. Take the 'Blue Route' bus towards Santa Fe. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure times. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the Santa Fe Depot. Once you arrive at the Santa Fe Depot, transfer to the 'Santa Fe Trails' bus route 2, which will take you directly to the entrance of Santa Fe National Forest. The total travel time is around 1 hour.

Start at the Los Alamos Visitor Center located at 475 20th St. Follow the bike path along the Los Alamos Canyon Trail heading south. Continue on the trail until you reach the junction with NM-502. Carefully cross NM-502 and continue onto the bike path towards Santa Fe. Follow the signs leading to Santa Fe National Forest. The total distance is roughly 20 miles and may take about 2 hours, depending on your pace.
