Car
If you're traveling by car, start by heading north on any local road to connect to I-25 N. Once on I-25 N, continue for approximately 20 miles until you reach exit 1A for US-70 W toward Las Cruces. Merge onto US-70 W and continue for about 10 miles. Take exit 142 for NM-185 S toward Radium Springs. After exiting, turn left onto NM-185 S and follow it for about 5 miles. You will see signs for Fort Selden Historic Site. Turn right onto Fort Selden Rd, and the site will be on your right at 1280 Fort Selden Rd, Radium Springs, NM 88054.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the RoadRUNNER Transit System Line 1 from downtown Las Cruces. Get off at the stop nearest to US-70 W. You may need to use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) from there to reach the Fort Selden Historic Site, as the site is not directly served by public transit. The rideshare should take about 15 minutes and cost approximately $15-20.

If you prefer cycling, start from Las Cruces and take the La Llorona Trail heading north. This scenic trail will lead you toward the river. You will need to connect to NM-185 S from the trail, which you can do by following local roads. Be cautious as NM-185 has some traffic. The total bike ride is approximately 13 miles and may take around 1-2 hours depending on your pace.
