If you are starting from the center of Ruidoso, head east on Sudderth Drive. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Mechem Drive. Turn left onto Mechem Drive and walk north. After about half a mile, you will reach the intersection with NM-48. Cross NM-48 carefully and continue north until you reach the trailhead area. The Perk Canyon Trailhead is located at approximately 33.3410° N, -105.7006° W, which you can identify by the nearby hiking signs.

Begin your journey at the Ruidoso Parks and Recreation center located on 101 Carrizo Canyon Road. Head east on Carrizo Canyon Road until you reach Sudderth Drive.
