Public Bus
From the center of Truth or Consequences, head to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. Make sure to check the local bus schedule for the Elephant Butte route. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach the Elephant Butte stop. From there, it's a short walk south to NM-195. Follow the road for about 0.5 miles, and you will see the entrance to Elephant Butte Lake State Park on your left.
Bicycle
If you have a bicycle, start from the center of Truth or Consequences and head east on Main Street. Continue until you reach NM-195. Turn left onto NM-195 and follow it for approximately 4 miles. The park entrance will be on your left. Please be cautious of traffic along NM-195.
Walking
For those who prefer to walk, start at the city center and walk east along Main Street until you reach NM-195. You will need to walk about 4 miles along the shoulder of the road. Once you reach NM-195, turn left, and the entrance to Elephant Butte Lake State Park will be about 0.5 miles down the road on your left.
Rideshare
Use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Open the app and input 'Elephant Butte Lake State Park' as your destination. The driver will pick you up from your location in Truth or Consequences. The park is approximately 4.5 miles away, and the ride should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
