If you're traveling by car within Valles Caldera National Preserve, start from the Visitor Center located at 1 Valles Caldera National Preserve, Jemez Springs, NM 87025. Head southeast on NM-4 N and continue for about 12 miles. Look for Camp Shaver Ln on your right. Turn onto Camp Shaver Ln, and follow it until you reach the Trailhead parking area, which is well-marked. Note that parking is free.
