Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Hudson Highlands State Park from any location in the Hudson Valley, take the nearest major road to Route 9D. From the north, merge onto I-87 S and then take exit 17 for I-84 E towards Newburgh. Follow signs to Route 9D and merge onto NY-9D S. Continue on NY-9D until you reach 3260 NY-9D, Cold Spring, NY 10516. The park entrance will be on your right. Be aware that parking is available, but may incur a fee based on season and demand.

• Public Transportation (Train)

  For those using public transportation, take the Metro-North Railroad from Grand Central Terminal in New York City. Board a train on the Hudson Line heading north towards Poughkeepsie. Disembark at the Cold Spring station. From the station, you can either walk or take a taxi. Walking takes approximately 30-40 minutes. If you choose to walk, head south on Main Street, then turn left onto NY-9D. Follow NY-9D for about 1.5 miles until you reach the park entrance at 3260 NY-9D, Cold Spring, NY 10516.   Another option is taking a bus. The Short Line Bus Company operates services from various locations in the Hudson Valley to Cold Spring. Look for the bus that stops near the center of Cold Spring. Upon arrival, you can walk or take a taxi to Hudson Highlands State Park, which is approximately 1.5 miles away. Walking will take about 30-40 minutes. To walk, head south on Main Street and then turn left onto NY-9D, following it until you reach the park entrance at 3260 NY-9D, Cold Spring, NY 10516.
