Car
From Hunter Mountain, head south on NY-23A. Continue for about 6 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-214. Turn left onto NY-214 and proceed for approximately 4 miles. Look for Evergreen Mountain Road on your right. Turn onto Evergreen Mountain Road and continue for about 1 mile. The entrance to Hunter-West Kill Wilderness will be on your left at 25 Evergreen Mt Rd, West Kill, NY 12492.
Public Transportation + Walking
Take the Trailways Bus from Hunter to the nearest bus stop in Tannersville. From Tannersville, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the entrance of Hunter-West Kill Wilderness at 25 Evergreen Mt Rd, West Kill, NY 12492, which is approximately 5 miles away. Be sure to check local taxi services in advance, as availability may vary.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can bike from Hunter Mountain. Take NY-23A south toward Palenville and then turn left onto NY-214. Follow this road for about 4 miles, then turn onto Evergreen Mountain Road. The wilderness area will be on your left after about 1 mile. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all safety guidelines while biking on the roads.
