Starting from the Poughkeepsie Train Station, head southeast on Main Street. Continue walking down Main Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Barclay Street. Turn left onto Barclay Street. The Garfield Place Historic District is located at 2 Barclay St, just a short walk down on your right.

Bus
From the Poughkeepsie Transit Hub, take the Route 6 bus towards the Poughkeepsie Plaza. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop near the intersection of Main Street and Barclay Street. From there, walk south on Barclay Street for a couple of blocks, and you'll find the Garfield Place Historic District at 2 Barclay St on your left.

If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Poughkeepsie waterfront area. Head north along the Hudson River Greenway for a scenic route. At the end of the greenway, turn left onto Main Street and continue for about 0.7 miles.
