Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from any location in the Southern Tier, navigate towards NY-32 N. Follow NY-32 N towards Saugerties. Once you reach the intersection with NY-212, turn left onto NY-212 W, and continue for about 4 miles. You will then turn right onto Lighthouse Drive. Follow Lighthouse Drive until you reach the Saugerties Lighthouse at 168 Lighthouse Dr, Saugerties, NY 12477. There is no entrance fee to visit the lighthouse, but if you choose to park nearby, check for any local parking fees.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Saugerties Lighthouse using public transportation, take a bus from your location in the Southern Tier to the Saugerties bus stop. You can check the schedule on the Trailways of New York website. Once you arrive at the Saugerties bus stop, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the lighthouse as it is approximately 2 miles away. The approximate cost for a taxi could range from $10 to $15. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can bike to Saugerties Lighthouse. From Saugerties, head north on NY-32 N and then take NY-212 W. Note that while there are bike lanes in some areas, you should exercise caution as parts of the route may have heavier traffic. The lighthouse is approximately 4 miles from the center of Saugerties. This is a scenic ride, and you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Hudson River along the way.

  If you are staying in Saugerties and prefer to walk, you can take a leisurely stroll to the lighthouse. Starting from the center of Saugerties, head northwest towards NY-32 N. Once you reach the intersection with NY-212, follow the same directions as driving. It will take approximately one hour to walk to the lighthouse, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and plan accordingly.
