Car
If you are driving from anywhere in the Thousand Islands region, head south on NY-12 towards I-81. Merge onto I-81 South and continue for about 35 miles until you reach I-287. Take exit 15 for I-287 South toward the Tappan Zee Bridge. Cross the bridge and take exit 10 toward US-9W North. Follow US-9W North for about 9 miles until you reach West Point. Turn onto New South Post Road, and you will find Constitution Island at the United States Military Academy. There is a small parking area available nearby.
Public Transportation
To use public transportation, you can take a bus from the Thousand Islands area to the nearest major city, which is Newburgh, NY. From Newburgh, you can catch the Metro-North Railroad to the Garrison station. Once at Garrison, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the United States Military Academy at West Point. The taxi ride will take approximately 15 minutes and will cost around $15-$20. Be sure to check the train schedules in advance.
Boat
For an adventurous route, consider taking a boat tour of the Hudson River. Various companies offer tours that can take you close to Constitution Island from locations such as Beacon or Newburgh. During the boat tour, you will enjoy scenic views of the island and West Point. Make sure to check with the boat company for schedules and pricing, as costs can vary.
