Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Cobble Lookout, start by heading toward Wilmington, NY. From the center of Wilmington, locate Route 86 and follow it towards Whiteface Mountain. As you approach the Whiteface Mountain area, look for signs indicating the entrance to the Whiteface Mountain Memorial Highway. The highway leads directly to the summit of Whiteface Mountain. Once on the highway, drive until you reach the Cobble Lookout parking area, which is located approximately 1.5 miles from the summit. Parking may incur a fee, so be prepared for a small cost.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will first need to take a bus or shuttle service to Wilmington, NY. Check local transit schedules for routes connecting to Wilmington. Once you arrive in Wilmington, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Whiteface Mountain Memorial Highway entrance. The trail is moderate in difficulty, and you should allow approximately 1-2 hours for the hike, depending on your pace.
