Start at the Dunedin Railway Station, a prominent landmark in the city. From the station, head north on Anzac Avenue towards the intersection with Cumberland Street. Turn left onto Cumberland Street and continue walking straight. After about 1 km, you will reach the intersection with North Road. Turn right onto North Road and continue for about 500 meters. Ethel Emma McMillan Walk is located on your left, just past the intersection with Leith Valley Road. Look for the entrance marked with signs.

From the Octagon, catch the bus number 7 (St Clair) or number 8 (Caversham) from the bus stop on George Street. Get off at the North Road stop, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. Once you disembark, walk back along North Road towards Leith Valley Road. Ethel Emma McMillan Walk will be on your left, just a short walk from the bus stop.
