From Te Anau, drive on State Highway 94 heading towards Milford Sound. Continue for approximately 100 kilometers (about 1 hour and 30 minutes). Look for the Ruby Beach turnoff at a signpost near the Hollyford Track entrance. Turn left onto Hollyford Road and follow it until you reach the Ruby Beach car park. The drive is scenic, with opportunities to stop and enjoy the views of Fiordland National Park along the way.

Take a bus service from Te Anau to Milford Sound. There are several options available, such as the GreatSights or Fiordland Connection services. Confirm with the bus service if they stop at Hollyford Track. If they do not, you may need to hire a taxi from Milford Sound to reach the Ruby Beach turnoff. The bus ride takes approximately 2 hours, and costs around NZD 60-90 for a one-way ticket.

If you prefer to hike, you can access Ruby Beach via the Hollyford Track. This multi-day hike begins at the Hollyford Road entrance.
