Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Napier's city center, head south along Hastings Street. You will pass various shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Tennyson Street. Turn left onto Tennyson Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Marine Parade. You should see the waterfront on your right side. Cross Marine Parade and continue onto the pedestrian path along the beach for about 10 minutes. Keep an eye out for the large War Memorial, which is part of Memorial Square, located in Napier South. The square will be on your left, nestled among some trees.

  • Public Transport

    From the Napier Bus Station, take any bus heading towards the Napier South area. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop nearest to Memorial Square. Once you get off the bus, you should be able to see the square a short walk away. Head towards the direction pointed out by the bus driver, which should lead you to Tennyson Street. Follow Tennyson Street south until you reach the intersection with Marine Parade, then cross Marine Parade. Memorial Square is located nearby, with the War Memorial visible from the street.

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bike, you can ride from Napier's city center. Begin at the intersection of Hastings Street and Emerson Street, heading south towards Tennyson Street. Turn left onto Tennyson Street and continue straight. As you ride, keep a lookout for Marine Parade on your right. Once you reach Marine Parade, you can park your bike at a designated bike rack and walk towards Memorial Square, which will be in the vicinity of the War Memorial.
