Start your journey in Paihia at the Paihia Wharf, located on the waterfront. From the wharf, head east along the waterfront promenade, following the signs towards Opua. Continue along the path, passing the Paihia Beach and the surrounding cafes. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will come across the intersection with Marsden Road. Cross Marsden Road and continue straight ahead, where the path leads you to the Opua to Paihia Walkway entrance. The walkway itself is well-marked and will take you through beautiful coastal scenery, leading directly towards Opua.

From Paihia, head to the Paihia Wharf and catch the passenger ferry to Opua. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes.
