Ferry
To reach Mount Nicholas, start by making your way to the Queenstown Wharf, located on Beach Street in the city center. From there, board the TSS Earnslaw, a historic steamship that operates regularly to Walter Peak Station. Enjoy the scenic ride across Lake Wakatipu, which takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Walter Peak, disembark and look for the Mount Nicholas shuttle service that will take you directly to Mount Nicholas. Make sure to check the ferry schedule in advance, as it may vary.

Bike
If you prefer a more adventurous route, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Queenstown. Start at the Queenstown Gardens and follow the lakeside path towards Frankton. Continue along the scenic trail until you reach the road leading towards Glenorchy. Unfortunately, this route is not directly to Mount Nicholas but offers stunning views along the way. After biking for approximately 30 minutes, you'll reach a point where you can catch a shuttle that may have stops close to Mount Nicholas. Check with local shuttle services for more information.
