Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 103 Ardmore Street. From the i-SITE, head south on Ardmore Street towards the lake. When you reach the lakefront, turn left and walk along the water's edge. Continue walking until you reach the junction with Lakeside Road. Turn right onto Lakeside Road and follow it as it curves around the lake. After about 1.5 km, you'll reach the entrance to Ruby Island Road. Turn left onto Ruby Island Road and walk for approximately 3 km. The Waterfall Creek Track will be located on your left. Look for the sign marking the entrance to the track.

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Wanaka. Start at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre and head south on Ardmore Street. When you reach the lakefront, turn left and cycle along the lake. Follow Lakeside Road as it wraps around the lake. After about 1.5 km, turn right onto Ruby Island Road. Continue cycling for approximately 3 km, and you will see the entrance to Waterfall Creek Track on your left, marked by a sign.
