Walking
From the center of Mount Victoria, head southeast on Elizabeth Street towards the intersection with Majoribanks Street. Turn left onto Majoribanks Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Wellington Road. Turn right onto Wellington Road. After about 500 meters, you will reach the entrance to the Mount Alfred walking track, which is well signposted. Follow the track uphill for approximately 1.2 kilometers until you reach the summit of Mount Alfred, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Wellington.

Public Transport (Bus)
If you prefer public transport, take Bus Number 1 from the nearest bus stop on Mount Victoria. Make sure to check the schedule as buses may run less frequently on weekends. Ride the bus towards the city center and get off at the stop near the intersection of Cambridge Terrace and Victoria Street. From there, walk back along Victoria Street until you reach the entrance to the Mount Alfred walking track. The bus fare is approximately NZD 3.50, and you can pay using a Snapper card or cash.

If you have a bicycle, you can cycle from the center of Mount Victoria. Head towards the waterfront along the cycle path on Oriental Parade.
