Car
If you are driving, start from the town of Greymouth. Take State Highway 7 (SH7) towards the town of Reefton. After approximately 73 km, you will reach the junction with State Highway 73 (SH73). Turn left onto SH73 and continue for about 30 km until you reach the town of Castle Hill. The Cave Stream Scenic Reserve is located just off SH73, approximately 5 km past Castle Hill. Look for the sign indicating the reserve on your left. There is a parking area where you can leave your car.

Public Transport
If you are using public transport, you can take a bus from Greymouth to Christchurch. The bus company 'InterCity' operates services along this route. Once you reach Christchurch, you will need to catch a bus to Castle Hill, which is serviced by local buses. Upon arrival in Castle Hill, you will need to walk approximately 5 km along SH73 to reach the Cave Stream Scenic Reserve. Be aware that public transport schedules may not be frequent, so plan your trip accordingly.

If you are staying in Castle Hill, you can walk to the Cave Stream Scenic Reserve. The reserve is approximately 5 km from the Castle Hill village. Exit the village onto SH73, and head east for about 5 km. Follow the signs to the reserve. The walk is along the roadside, so please ensure you are cautious and aware of traffic.
