From Matagalpa, head northeast on the main road (Carretera Panamericana) towards Jinotega. Continue for about 40 kilometers until you reach the town of Jinotega. Once in Jinotega, follow the signs to 'Reserva Natural Bosawás.' The last part of the journey will be on unpaved roads, so be prepared for rough terrain. Drive carefully as the roads can be narrow and winding. The GPS coordinates for the entrance to the reserve are approximately 14.061988, -85.220947.

Public Transportation
From Matagalpa, take a bus to Jinotega at the main bus terminal. The buses leave regularly and the journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they can take you to the reserve as some may not be familiar with it. The last stretch may require a hike if the vehicle cannot reach the entrance.
