Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are at the Abeokuta Central Market, head south on Lafenwa Road towards Oke-Ilewo Road. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the junction with Kuto Road. Turn right onto Kuto Road and walk for another 5 minutes until you see the Palace of the Alake of Egbaland on your left. The museum is located within the palace premises.

  • Public Transport (Okada)

    Find a nearby Okada (motorcycle taxi) stand and tell the rider you want to go to the Palace of the Alake of Egbaland. The ride should take about 10 minutes depending on traffic. They will drop you off right at the entrance of the palace.

  • Walking from the Olumo Rock

    From Olumo Rock, exit the site and head towards the main road. Walk towards the south on Oke-Sokori Road. Continue walking for about 15 minutes until you reach Kuto Road. Turn left onto Kuto Road and walk for another 5 minutes. The Palace of the Alake of Egbaland will be on your right.

    If you are near the Ogun State Secretariat, look for a bus heading towards Kuto. Board the bus and inform the driver you want to get to the Palace of the Alake of Egbaland. The bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. The bus will drop you off at a short walk from the palace.
