Walking
Start at the Maiduguri Central Mosque located in the heart of Maiduguri. From the mosque, head southeast on Borno Way towards the traffic light at the intersection with Shehu Sanda Kyarimi Street. Cross the intersection and continue straight along Shehu Sanda Kyarimi Street. After approximately 1 km, you will reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto Baga Road. Continue along Baga Road for another 1.5 km until you reach the junction with Unnamed Road. Turn left onto Unnamed Road and walk for about 500 meters. Mai Deribe Palace will be on your right at V59G+C9W.
Bicycle
If you are near Maiduguri International Airport, you can rent a bicycle. Start from the airport exit and head west on Airport Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Borno Way. Turn left onto Borno Way and ride for about 3 km. At the traffic light, turn right onto Shehu Sanda Kyarimi Street. Follow this road for 1 km, and then take the second exit at the roundabout onto Baga Road. After 1.5 km, turn left onto Unnamed Road. Mai Deribe Palace will be about 500 meters ahead on your right.
Motorbike Taxi (Okada)
Find a motorbike taxi near a busy area like the Maiduguri Market. Inform the rider that you want to go to Mai Deribe Palace. They will take you through the city, passing landmarks such as the Maiduguri Central Mosque and the Baga Road roundabout. The journey should take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to direct the rider to drop you off at the Unnamed Road, where you can easily locate the palace on your right.
