If you have access to a bike, start at the Watauga County Public Library on Queen Street. Head east on Queen Street and then turn right onto West King Street. Follow King Street until you reach New Market Blvd. Turn left onto New Market Blvd and bike for about 1.2 miles. The entrance to Boone United Trail will be on your right at 471 New Market Blvd.

Take the Appalcart bus service, which is free for all riders. Board the bus at any stop along the route. You can take the 'Blue' line and get off at the New Market Blvd stop.
