Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from downtown Durham, head north on Chapel Hill Rd (NC-54) for about 2 miles. Merge onto I-85 N via the ramp on the left. After about 5 miles, take exit 179 for NC-147 N toward Durham. Continue on NC-147 N for about 6 miles, then take exit 15 for Old Oxford Highway. Turn right onto Old Oxford Highway (NC-501). Stagville State Historic Site will be on your left after about 3 miles. There is no entry fee for the site, but check their website for any special events that may require a fee.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Stagville State Historic Site using public transportation, first take the GoDurham bus route 5 from downtown Durham to the Northgate Mall. From Northgate Mall, transfer to route 11, which will take you closer to the site. However, please note that the closest bus stop is still about 1.5 miles from Stagville.
