Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by heading north on Roxboro St toward downtown Durham. Merge onto I-85 N and continue for about 8 miles. Take exit 178 for US-15 N/US-501 N toward Hillsborough. Merge onto US-15 N/US-501 N and continue for approximately 6 miles. Take the exit toward NC-98 E and then merge onto NC-98 E. After about 2 miles, turn left onto Rivermont Rd. Continue on Rivermont Rd for about 1 mile, and you will reach Pump Station Trail at 3860, 3998 Rivermont Rd, Durham, NC 27712. There is no entrance fee for the trail.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Pump Station Trail using public transportation, take the GoDurham bus route 5 from the downtown area. Board the bus at the nearest bus stop heading towards the Northgate Mall. Ride the bus until you reach the 'Rivermont Rd & US-501' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles along Rivermont Rd to reach the trailhead at 3860, 3998 Rivermont Rd, Durham, NC 27712. • Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing program available in Durham. Start from downtown Durham and head northeast on Duke St, then take a left onto US-15 N/US-501 N. Follow the bike lanes for about 6 miles. When you reach NC-98 E, turn left and bike along Rivermont Rd for about 1 mile until you reach Pump Station Trail at 3860, 3998 Rivermont Rd, Durham, NC 27712. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling regulations.
